YES: BOY BY BAND OF OUTSIDERS F/W 2009

I'm a big fan of Scott Sternberg, and I kind of love the blocky-colours-and-tailored-basics look. It also reminds me of French New Wave movies, which is a very good thing. It's not a home run (there are some questionables above, certainly) but I like where this is going.

Once again, Band Of Outsiders rears its beautiful head- and this time, it opens its mouth:

Opening a conversation with 'What do you do?' makes you sound like a shifty, social-climbing dickwad. Small talk is for sissies, but if you're stuck with it, you can certainly come up with something better than that. Talking about what brand you're wearing is gay in the bad way. Just keep quiet and play dumb if someone asks. Talking about what a great deal you got on the aforementioned item is worse. If you must, tell your mom, because she has sale empathy and will take your victory as her own. It's sick.

My man-crush on Scott Sternberg of Band of Outsiders has now reached epic proportions. In the latest W Magazine, an interiew with Scott (in my mind, we're on a first-name basis) reveals his disdain for Paris Hilton, Jon and Kate, and adult diapers, his affinity for French new-wave films, and, best of all, he answers one question with "Yes. No. Maybe."- perhaps a sign that he reciprocates my love???

NO: POLO SHIRTS

A brief posting. Polo shirts seem to be gaining popularity, evidenced by the efforts of, for example, Band of Outsiders. I am not really a fan. They are just a popped collar away from obnoxiousness, and I think a proper shirt or t-shirt looks better anyhow.

MAYBE: FLANNEL SHOES

Two of my favourite labels, Common Projects and Band of Outsiders, have grey flannel shoes coming out. Hmm.

While I was unsure about Sarah Silverman, I'm all for Marisa Tomei. And, by my count, it's Blondes 2 (Michelle Williams, Kirsten Dunst), Brunettes 2 (Silverman and Tomei). Can't wait to see how Mr. Sternberg decides how to break this tie next season...
